Trauma Awareness Day 2016 – Memorial Regional Hospital
About a dozen former trauma patients returned to Memorial Regional Hospital for a reunion with their rescuers, doctors and staffers as part of Trauma Awareness Month.
The annual event reunites the hospitals’ trauma teams, as well as EMS representatives from the community, with the patients they’ve treated and their families.
The dedicated trauma center and team sees nearly 2,500 traumatic injured patients each year.
One by one, patients were awarded survivor medals and then took the time to tell others emotional experiences.
