Madiley Broz, PSYD, Neuropsychologist, recalls one young boy who suffered a traumatic brain injury so severe, she was unsure if they were going to see much cognitive recovery.
The multidisciplinary team at Memorial Neuroscience Institute used familiar music and pictures as neuro cognitive stimulation, and soon the patient was walking and talking.
Today he functions normally and independently. It’s the type of reward Dr. Broz calls “indescribable.”
