One Year Look Back At the COVID-19 Response
This week marked a year since the Memorial Healthcare System cared for its first COVID-19 patient. Many of us remember where we were and what we were doing when we received that news. Fast forward to now when we have treated over nine thousand patients and have experienced things we never imagined was even possible in our careers. We thought the bad dream would be over in a few months and yet a year later we are still fighting the battle. Although the case counts are still significant and the care required for COVID patients is very complex and burdensome, the vaccine is giving us a glimmer of hope. The lessons we have learned along the COVID journey will successfully carry us to the end. We will see the blue sky between the clouds of our current situation.
