“She’s a Match” Sister’s Kidney Transplant Brings Raymond New Life
Raymond’s life was cornered by end-stage renal failure, but his sister, Mercy, was a perfect match for his kidney transplant. Fernando Pedraza, MD, Medical Director, Adult Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Program at Memorial, performed the successful transplant. Mercy walked away from the hospital in 72 hours, and Raymond was released four days after surgery – returning twice a week for lab tests. Memorial’s transplant team has freed Raymond from dialysis and provided him with a new life. Learn more about the Memorial Transplant Institute and their stories at MHS.net/Transplant.
