Spine Surgery at Memorial has Cassie Back to an Active Life
Suffering from back pain and numbness after a car accident, Cassie benefited from everyday extraordinary treatment and care at Memorial Neuroscience Institute.
Initially the pain from her accident was tolerable, but after a day playing soccer at the beach her pain became so severe, she had trouble walking.
At Memorial, an MRI revealed a severely herniated disc that was causing compression to a nerve.
Neurosurgeon Ivan Stoev, MD, performed a minimally invasive microdiscectomy at Memorial Neuroscience Institute, and when Cassie woke up from surgery, her pain was gone. She was soon able to return to fishing, diving and other activities she loves.
