After Hip Replacement Surgery at Memorial Joyce is Moving Again
Joyce was meant to move, but advanced osteoarthritis in her hip caused chronic pain that affected her ability to drive a car, walk and sleep.
Daniel Chan, MD, Medical Director, Memorial Division of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery, recommended anterior hip replacement surgery, a minimally invasive technique to accelerate Joyce’s recovery.
Joyce was discharged the same day as her surgery and she’s now able to walk and play with her dog, pain-free.
